SUGAR & SPICE GINGERBREAD CHALLENGE 2010
This year houses will be place directly in storefront windows and be judged by
the public by popular votes within each store.
First, second and third place winners will receive a trophy and gift basket from the local stores. There is no age catagory; familys and groups may work together to create one house.
Houses must be entered by sending in the entry form or directly at Creative Events and be in their designated storefront no later than November 24; in time for the downtown Holiday parade.
RULES - please read carefully.
1. Every part of the gingerbread house entry, inside and out, must be made of edible materials. Wrappers must be removed. Only the supporting base is permitted to be non-edible and not more than an inch high. (plywood is recommended.)
2. Overall size is limited to 24'' wide by 24'' deep. No limit to height.
3. You must be registered to qualify. A $10.00 non-refundable fee is required to enter.
4. You may chose from our list of stores where your house will be displayed; first come, first served. One gingerbread house per store allowed. (a list will be available soon.)
5. You must deliver your entry to the store that was chosen no later than Wednesday, November 24 or according to the hours that store may be open. No adjustments to the entry may be made after the house is in place. Judging ends at the end of Saturday;December18
and winners will be disclosed on Monday,December 20.
6. Judging will be done by the public with ballots within the stores. One vote per person. Extra votes will be disqualified. Houses must be removed from the premises by January 7, 2011 or they will be disposed of.
7. The contest is open to everyone, professional or novice.
11. Kits may be used if parts are edible.
12. Deadline to get your application in is Saturday, November 20, 2010.
